Law Enforcement Cooperation
Draft, 2026-10-22. Review with legal counsel before publishing.
HankySpanky is operated from Sweden and is subject to Swedish and EU law.
We cooperate fully with law enforcement. We respond to every request for user information or preservation of data that is lawful and is made through, or confirmed by, the Swedish Police Authority (Polismyndigheten). Requests from other Swedish authorities, or from authorities in other countries, must be routed through the Swedish Police or another channel recognised under Swedish law (for example international legal assistance or the EU e-Evidence framework once applicable).
What we can provide
Subject to a lawful request, we may disclose:
- account information (username, email address, registration date, registration IP address),
- access logs with IP addresses and timestamps,
- profile content, uploaded media including the original files, messages, and other content held on the account,
- records of moderation actions and reports.
We keep access logs for 12 months and original uploads for up to 12 months after deletion, unless a legal hold is in place. Data that has already been deleted under our retention schedule cannot be provided.
Preservation
On request from the police we will preserve data relating to a specific account pending formal legal process.
Emergencies
If there is an imminent risk of death or serious injury, we may disclose information without a formal order to the extent the law allows.
Child sexual abuse material
Suspected child sexual abuse material is removed, the evidence is preserved, and it is reported to the Swedish Police without waiting for a request.
User notification
We inform users about requests concerning their data unless the law or the requesting authority prohibits it, or doing so would endanger someone.
